Westinghouse Pittsburgh WIN hosted a STEM outreach event with local community schools focused on “Getting to Know Nuclear” in support of Nuclear Science Week. The event was held on October 22nd. In the event, we educated the participants on the history of Westinghouse and Nuclear Science Week. We then presented on Nuclear Power PWR Overview in teaching the students about how nuclear power is made and how nuclear plays a role in Pennsylvania. We had an opportunity to provide a brief Q&A session with the students and were able to answer their questions about nuclear power!
