These are exciting times! The mentoring subcommittee has great news to share with you. The U.S. WIN Steering Committee voted unanimously to approve the Mentoring Pilot Program. That means that we will conclude this program and start a new program at the annual conference without the word “pilot” in the name. Additionally, an overwhelming favorite for the name of the new program is GROW – Growth, Relationships, and Opportunities through WIN.
Everyone can participate. You can apply by filling out an application and submitting it through your regional leads to be a mentee or mentor in the upcoming program. You can also be a part of the mentoring subcommittee.
We have spent this year helping our mentees become the best versions of themselves by sharing articles, videos, and other reading material. One of the articles we shared was “How to be the Best Version of Yourself” by Tony Robbins. Below is a short excerpt from that article:
Authentic self-discovery isn’t easy. It takes courage and tenacity. To approach your essential self, you must turn away from distracting false beliefs that cloud or distort your self-perception. You need to reveal what drives you – not superficial things like money or power, but what really drives you. Your ultimate purpose in life.
If you’re feeling anxious about self-improvement, remember: Every person is completely unique. Someone else’s life path cannot be your benchmark of success, since they have different dreams, passions, and skills. There is also no roadmap or ideal outcome in life because everyone’s path is theirs and theirs alone.
Ultimately, what drives your decisions – and the key to becoming best version of yourself – are your values and your standards. Your values make you who you are, but your standards define what you’re willing to accept in life. Will you accept being anything less than your authentic, incredible, powerful self?
Are you willing to take the journey to “Being the Best You”? The Mentoring GROW program can assist in the journey no matter what stage you are in your career. Participants in the program includes students, early career, mid-career or the well-seasoned. Everyone can benefit from this program.
Are you willing to pay it forward? You can pay it forward by continuing to participate as a mentor in the upcoming program or become a mentor if you are a mentee in the current program. Lastly, you can become a member of the mentoring subcommittee to continue building this awesome program.
The mentoring subcommittee would like to share a short video Click here celebrating National Mentoring Month 2022. It is short (approximately 2 minutes) but we like it because it re-charges you when you think about mentoring and the importance of giving to others.
