WOMEN IN NUCLEAR TEAM UP FOR A STEAM EVENT

Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station (PBAPS) and Three Mile Island (TMI) Women in Nuclear (WIN), paired up to support the Solanco School District STEAM event on February 27, 2018. Over 350 students in grades K-8, and their families, participated in a variety of hands-on activities that connected with Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Medicine (STEAM). The students were introduced to STEAM concepts, while experiencing how fun STEAM can be. Kimberly Hobbs of PBAPS and Tracy Arnold of TMI saw the spark of interest in many students while explaining how a nuclear power plant works. The students and their families were especially impressed with how green and clean nuclear energy provides safe, reliable electricity to their homes, schools and local businesses.
