Welcome and Gratitude to Executive Advisory Council Members

U.S. Women in Nuclear would like to welcome four new members to our Executive Advisory Council (EAC):

 

Chris Mudrick is the President & Chief Nuclear Officer for Constellation Nuclear, bringing a wealth of industry leadership experience to the U.S. WIN EAC.  Chris previously served as Constellation’s Senior Vice President of Generation Growth since December 2024, a position that marked his return to Constellation after serving as executive vice president and CNO at Bruce Power in Ontario, Canada, for more than four years. Prior to joining Bruce Power, Chris was at Constellation/Exelon for more than 32 years, as senior vice president of operations and chief operating officer. Chris began his career in the industry as a nuclear power plant senior reactor operator in Pennsylvania in 1987.  Chris has been an active supporter of U.S. Women in Nuclear throughout his career.

Dawn Sileo is Executive Vice President & Chief Nuclear Officer at Energy Northwest.  Dawn has more than 20 years of experience in the energy industry. Her energy career began in 2001 at Energy Northwest when she was a project manager for the Packwood Lake Hydroelectric Project relicensing project. In 2004, Dawn earned her senior reactor operator (SRO) license and became a control room supervisor at​ Columbia Generating Station.  Dawn’s career includes time as a loanee to the World Association of Nuclear Operators as director of Organizational Effectiveness and Human Resources and deputy director of Industry Leadership and Development. She also served as the Organizational Effectiveness leader at the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations. Before returning to Energy Northwest, Dawn was the vice president for Independent Ov​ersight at Entergy Corporation’s nuclear fleet out of Jackson, Mississippi.  Dawn has been actively involved in U.S. WIN throughout her career and is also an Alumni of U.S. WIN’s Nuclear Executives of Tomorrow leadership development program.

Ken Peters is the Executive Vice President & Chief Nuclear Officer for Vistra, the largest competitive power generator in the U.S. Peters is responsible for all aspects of operation of Vistra’s six nuclear units at four power plant sites. The nuclear units have a combined capacity of 6,400 MW.  The 2300-person nuclear team is responsible for the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of the four nuclear power plants, in compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations. This includes the operation, maintenance, and refueling at each unit. The team has a strong focus on safety and continuous improvement.  In addition to his corporate duties, Peters has been active in industry and his community. He is a member of the Texas Radiation Advisory Board, appointed in 2019. He also serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Utilities Service Alliance (USA) and serves on the Texas A&M Nuclear Engineering Program Advisory Council.  Ken is a strong supporter of U.S. Women in Nuclear and the Vistra WIN members.

Karen Fili is the President & CEO of Utilities Service Alliance and brings over 35 years of experience in commercial nuclear power. Prior to joining USA, Karen has filled numerous leadership roles across several sectors in the nuclear industry including roles as President & CEO of URENCO USA, Site Vice President for two different nuclear power plants: Vogtle 3 & 4 and Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant, Vice President of Nuclear Projects at Xcel Energy and Vice President of Nuclear Oversight at FirstEnergy.  Karen is an active member in the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO), the American Nuclear Society, U.S. Women in Nuclear (WIN) and serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council in the Bagley College of Engineering at Mississippi State University.  Karen has been an active member and sponsor of U.S. WIN throughout her career, and she has a passion for sharing her experience to support the development of industry professionals and future industry leaders.

Finally, we would like to extend an especially big thank you to those members who have recently ended their terms serving on the U.S. WIN Executive Advisory Council.  Many thanks to Tim Rausch (TVA CNO), Kim Harshaw (STPNOC CNO), David Rhoades (Constellation CNO), and Grover Hettel (Energy Northwest CNO) for offering many years of service to the U.S. WIN EAC.  These industry leaders have been steadfast supporters, guides and mentors, and we are truly grateful for their unwavering support and advocacy for U.S. WIN.

The EAC is comprised of executives in the nuclear industry who advocate for U.S. Women in Nuclear. The Council provides strategic advice and serves as a sounding board to the U.S. WIN Steering Committee on opportunities to promote the advancement of women and our membership.
