The U.S. Women in Nuclear (U.S. WIN) GROW (Growth, Relationships, and Opportunities through WIN) Mentoring Program continues to make significant strides in empowering individuals across the nuclear industry. Dedicated to fostering professional growth and leadership, the GROW program provides participants with the resources and support necessary to advance their careers while improving knowledge, skills and abilities.
Now in its third year, the GROW program is designed to help participants develop through mentorship, informative general sessions, and networking opportunities. The 2024-2025 cohort has a record-breaking 92 mentees, representing a range of industry roles geographically dispersed across the United States.
An outstanding example of the program’s impact is the journey of Tia Woodson, a recent GROW graduate who works as a Nuclear Work Management Specialist at Duke Energy. Tia shared her experience: “The program was instrumental in several ways. I moved into a new role of Nuclear Work Management Specialist shortly after the program was completed. The program provided several networking opportunities for me. I was able to interface with a few mentors. All of them provided guidance and tools that I could use to further my career goals. The biggest takeaway was the sisterhood that was established within this group. There was a thirst for knowledge shared and appreciated by all. It presented the opportunity to come out of our comfort zone. It presented avenues for relief when frustrations set in. It afforded the opportunity for growth, which is exactly what the program was designed to do.”
As we celebrate the accomplishments of our current GROW participants and graduates, we are also excited to welcome future cohorts. Details on recruitment for the 2025-2026 cohort will be available in the coming months. The GROW Mentoring Program exemplifies the commitment of U.S. WIN to advancing the careers of people within the nuclear industry. By providing comprehensive support, mentorship, and networking opportunities, the program equips participants with the tools they need for sustained professional growth and leadership.
