With the conclusion of the 2025 U.S. WIN National Conference, there are several leadership changes throughout our organization. We thank all of the outgoing leaders for their dedicated service and amazing contributions to U.S. WIN. Welcome our new leaders; we look forward to your great ideas and what you will bring to our organization!
Chair:
Outgoing: Juliann Edwards, The Nuclear Company
Juliann took the helm of U.S. WIN as Chair in July 2023. During her tenure, U.S. WIN updated the organization’s strategic objectives to better reflect changes in the nuclear industry and how U.S. WIN can maximize our impact. Juliann used her incredible network and influence to expose the public to the mission and accomplishments of U.S. WIN; interviews with local news channels, speaking on podcasts and always sharing the great things we’re doing with everyone she encountered are just a few examples of how she led. She accelerated the momentum started by our Past Chair, Victoria Dennis, to expand the Nuclear Executives of Tomorrow (NEXT) Program to include the NEXT-UP and NEXT Steps so our impact is sustained and reaches deeper into the workforce. Juliann will now take the role of Past Chair on the Steering Committee and represent U.S. WIN in the Global WiN organization.
As Juliann reflects on her time with the Steering Committee (SC), she says, “I was deeply honored when I was called to serve this remarkable organization, and it has been one of the great privileges of my career to be part of this chapter in U.S. WIN’s journey. The passion, talent, and dedication of the women and men in this community are shaping the future of our industry—and the value they bring is nothing short of extraordinary.”
Incoming: Becky Salvadore, Constellation
During her term, Becky plans to expand U.S. WIN’s Workforce Development efforts so that we can fuel the future talent pipeline to meet the workforce needs of the next two decades amidst the significant growth underway within the U.S. nuclear industry. This includes broadening our network with interfacing organizations and creating experiences to inspire young people to pursue enriching, lucrative and stable careers in our industry, particularly in the skilled trades professions. As a graduate of our very first NEXT cohort, Becky will continue to lean into her passion for developing others and focus on expanding the NEXT, NEXT Up and GROW programs and professional development experiences so that we continue to support the development and advancement of women within the nuclear industry, and support our members with continued growth and development. We have a responsibility to create an inclusive culture that allows our members to thrive, maximize their personal impact and attract our future talent. Becky will bring her extensive industry knowledge and knack for personal connectivity together and be an outstanding leader of U.S. WIN.
Becky shared the following when asked about the value that U.S. WIN provides to our members and industry, “We’ve been given an extraordinary opportunity to lead at a point in time where nuclear technology is essential to a sustainable future. We have the knowledge, skills and power to accomplish great things. With that comes the responsibility to teach, mentor, advocate, innovate, and ensure that this industry reflects the diversity and strength of the communities we serve.”
Steering Committee:
Outgoing:
- Jamie Coble, University of Tennessee, Knoxville
- Jamie provided guidance to our student chapters as they navigated the world of professional organizations and changes from student life to the workplace. Her inclusion of the student perspective into the organization has been key to our reach into the student community.
- “I consider my term on the U.S. WIN Steering Committee to be one of the most meaningful experiences of my career. The women on the SC are incredible examples of the impact that we can all have in the nuclear industry, from individual contributors to senior leadership. Serving as the student chapter liaison gave me a great reason to interact with students around the country who are passionate about nuclear science and technology, which always reinvigorates my own passion for nuclear! The opportunity to meet students studying all fields – from science and engineering, public policy and political science, or business – really showed me how strong the future of the nuclear industry is in the U.S.”
- Margie Barnes, retired
- Margie has been an awesome influence in the U.S. WIN organization and the industry. She worked with our Professional Development Committee and played a key role in the creation and progression of the GROW Mentoring Program. She most recently was responsible for keeping our Members at Large connected to U.S. WIN.
- “It has been an honor to serve on the U.S. WIN Steering Committee. I have been involved with U.S. WIN since its inception in 1999. I continue to believe in the objectives of the organization. I am grateful to have served with a team of leaders willing to give of their time to better the nuclear industry and to help all individuals GROW. This is truly an awesome community!”
- Julie Ezold, Oak Ridge National Laboratory
- Julie has been our voice of the National Laboratories and the science behind nuclear. She has always been committed to U.S. WIN, now completing her second stint on the Steering Committee. Julie’s first term was on the very first Steering Committee in 2008 where she was a part of the original charter development. Julie has been our expert on numerous panels, webinars and in workshops.
- “I have the distinct pleasure and honor to have served on the U.S. WIN Steering Committee twice in the past 17 years. There have been so many great initiatives taken during these times such as NEXT and Atomic Allies. I am grateful and humbled to have been part of this amazing organization. Thank you, U.S. WIN, for having me serve.”
- Victoria Dennis, Tennessee Valley Authority
- Victoria is completing her term on the Steering Committee after several devoted years, most recently as our Past Chair. Victoria took the reins with revamping our metrics to support our new strategic objectives, creating our new submission worksheet and ensuring our committees and memberships were involved in the process.
- “I’m grateful for the opportunity that I had to serve on the U.S. WIN Steering Committee. This organization has such an impact, not just for our industry, but for each individual member that experiences what we’ve strived to achieve: the mentoring and developmental opportunities, the professional networking, the interactions within our communities, and mostly a sense of belonging that is different from any other organization they may belong to. As I end my term as Past-Chair, I would like to share that it was an honor and a privilege to work with such a talented group of women leading this organization, and I know it is in very capable hands.”
