Developed by the NEXT23 Cohort to address a critical workforce challenge, the See It To Imagine It Toolkit is a comprehensive toolkit for Nuclear Professionals, Industry Organizations, Parents, Teachers, Coaches, and Influencers to attract young women to the Nuclear Industry and STEM. To meet growing demands and drive innovation, the nuclear industry needs more diverse talent, especially young women. Gender stereotypes form as early as the age of five, and by age 13, many girls have decided STEM isn’t for them. Our mission is to change that. We do this by providing exposure to relatable role models, women who look like them and have succeeded in nuclear fields. In addition to the inspirational videos, we highlight nuclear energy social media influencers to give a different perspective and make nuclear energy more relatable. Through interactive fact sheets with QR codes and links to additional information, hands-on activities that can be performed with the help of parents, teachers, or U.S. WIN members, and a Choose Your Own Nuclear Adventure tool, we offer fresh perspectives and practical advice about potential career paths in nuclear energy ranging from engineers and operators to marketing and communications specialists. Let’s create opportunities for young women to learn how they can change the world, starting with exploring nuclear science through our interactive toolkit.
