The 2025 U.S. WIN National Conference in New Orleans was a vibrant celebration of connection, growth, and mentorship—none more energizing than the GROW Speed Mentoring events held on July 29 and 30. Hosted by the GROW Mentoring Program Committee, these sessions brought together mentors and mentees from across the nuclear industry for dynamic rounds of fast-paced, high-impact conversations.
Held in a dedicated space designed for movement and interaction, each session paired participants for brief but meaningful exchanges. Bells signaled transitions, allowing attendees to rotate and engage with multiple partners. The format encouraged participants to sharpen their elevator pitches, ask thoughtful questions, and explore new perspectives in a supportive environment.
Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive. Many praised the energy in the room and the quality of the interactions. Several mentoring pairs have chosen to continue their relationships beyond the conference, a testament to the event’s success in fostering lasting professional connections.
The GROW Committee also hosted an information table in the exhibit hall, which drew significant interest from U.S. WIN members eager to learn more about the program and how to get involved. The enthusiasm around mentoring and community-building was felt throughout the conference.
As we look ahead to the 2025–2026 GROW program year, the momentum from these speed mentoring events sets a powerful tone. While the application period has closed, interest in the program remains high—so much so that a waiting list is now in place. Whether you’re a seasoned mentor or a first-time mentee, the GROW program continues to offer a space to learn, lead, and lift others. We encourage U.S. WIN members to stay engaged and watch for future opportunities to participate.
Let’s keep the spirit of mentorship alive—because when we grow together, we thrive together.
