The Byron Clean Energy Center chapter of U.S. Women in Nuclear (U.S. WIN) chapter hosted the U.S. WIN Region III conference June 25-26. The events started with a plant tour of Byron on Wednesday and on Thursday the theme of “Gratitude” was discussed throughout.
Margie Barnes, U.S. WIN Steering Committee member and retired Duke Energy employee, gave the group her personal reflections on Gratitude. Margie’s discussion included recognizing that you may not be grateful in the moment, but after time and reflection, it was something to be very grateful for.
American Electric Power Executive Vice President and Chief Nuclear Officer Kelly Ferneau discussed her career and the people she was grateful for in her career.
Terri Pappas from Strategic Talent Solutions walked the group through exercises to increase their executive presence, define and craft their professional brand statement, and map their professional network.
The day was wrapped up by Constellation Chief Operations Officer Marri Marchionda-Palmer. She discussed why she is proud and grateful to be working in the nuclear industry at this point in history, and why we should be too!
Attendees represented companies from across Region III including Constellation, American Electric Power, Vistra and Westinghouse.
Thank you again Byron Clean Energy Center chapter of U.S. WIN for an excellent Region III conference!
