GROWing Strong Into 2026

There was no coasting through December and January for the GROW Program. On December 16th, we held a COFFEE Chat focused on one of the most challenging things we may need to face in our workplace, “Impactful Feedback.” Whether giving or receiving feedback, we learned it is important to come into the conversation with authenticity, an open mind, and readiness to listen. Balancing the conversation with positive aspects and constructive improvement opportunities builds trust in the relationship and lends itself to seeking input for improvement in the future.   Changing the perspective of feedback to being opportunities to succeed, creates a positive culture that creates growth. We are grateful for our willing panelists, Brianna Crowe, Mesa Associates HR Director, Ray Moye, Jr. Sr. Manager Engineering at Peach Bottom, and Delson Erb, TVA VP Fleet Support.

Having opened ourselves up and onboarded feedback, it was now time to put the words into action. Our Winter General Session “Maximizing Your Career” focused on the impact we have on others and how our presence can draw people into our sphere or drive them away. Guest Speaker Jeff Place, Executive Vice President, Industry Strategy at the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) led us through his experience, points of self-reflection, and shared nuggets of wisdom. We considered that being self-aware, open to new ideas, and sharing a welcoming smile is as important as the technical knowledge we gain in our day-to-day jobs and training. We asked ourselves, “how can I make others around me successful as I find joy and experience growth myself?”
