Janese Neher Honored as Recipient of U.S. WIN Patricia Bryant Leadership Award

WIN-791.JPG Janese Neher, a consulting engineer of quality assurance at AmerenUE, received the U.S. Women in Nuclear’s (U.S. WIN) Patricia Bryant Leadership Award at the July national conference in Seattle.

Janese has worked in the nuclear industry for more than 20 years and is currently a PhD student in the Nuclear Science & Engineering Institute at the University of Missouri. During her tenure at AmerenUE Callaway Nuclear Plant, she has worked in the Nuclear Oversight Department Through her work she has been actively involved in legislative efforts for nuclear at both the national and state levels and in educating the public by promoting an understanding of nuclear power. She has demonstrated significant leadership holding the office of Vice Chairman of the Board at Callaway Plant, President of Women and Men in Nuclear at the University of Missouri, Chairman of the Board for Region IV WIN, and an active member of the U.S. WIN Leading Group. She has also been the recipient of the 2008 Ameren Diversity Award and 2010 University Chancellor’s Award.

Janese has also been actively involved in the promotion of WIN chapters at US universities. In addition, she is a promoter of nuclear, science, engineering and technology in K-12. One of these efforts is WIN’s Next Evolutionary Revolutionary Scientists (WINNERS) where K-12 can be an associate member of WIN. In addition, an annual “Save the World” contest with cash awards is also offered to students. This year’s contest is “Save the World from the Giant Asteroid” with contest information found on the Region IV website.
